PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building capable of easily ensuring a sufficient underfloor ventilation and minimizing an alteration such as a position or the like in an underfloor ventilating opening on the side of a building body. SOLUTION: An exterior step 16 is placed on the side of an outdoor side of the underfloor ventilating opening 17 of the building side formed in the building foundation 2 of the building body 101. The highest surface 16a is made flush with an opening edge 3a on the lower side of a doorway opening section 3 on the exterior step 16 and, at the same time, an opening port 19 opened upward is formed in the highest surface 16a to form a drain gutter 18 as a ventilation distributing section connecting a building underfloor space 101a to an outside space in an upper edge side 16c on the side of the building foundation.
