PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate such deficiency that in conventional structure, operators suffers from increases in battery replacing time and the fatigue of operators due to the load of heavy object transferring in addition to working for fixing batteries and lock releasing. SOLUTION: A battery laterally drawing device comprises a belt-like member 3, which has a plurality of projections and is attached to the bottom face of the battery case 1 or the tray 2 of a forklift truck, a belt-like or chain-like movable belt 5, which has many projections, which are meshed with the belt-like member 3 so that it can be engaged, and is arranged so as to be driven by a rotation drive section 6 using a manual handle or a motor and attached to a manual stand 7, and a battery rock lever 9, which is released by the bushing rod 8 provided on the side of the manual stand 7.
