PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tray for packaging shrimps, having no possibility of damaging their feelers and legs when they are taken out of the tray, and provide a package of headed shrimps, capable of being simply and reliably used for repackaging. SOLUTION: A shrimp packaging method is the one which packages shrimps by using a packaging tray of one type, capable of packaging a predetermined number of shrimps, irrespective of sizes of shrimps and irrespective of whether they are in a headed state. The packaging tray is formed of a flexible transparent material and is provided with a plurality of grooved recesses formed in parallel with one another with the aid of partitions. The grooved recesses are parallely formed in a plurality of rows, and the adjacent grooved recesses are partitioned from one another by the partitions. The cross-sectional shape of each grooved recess assumes a U shape, and the stability of the shrimps contained in an extended state is obtained. Each partition is formed into a cross-sectionally inverted V shape to support the shrimp contained in each grooved recess from both right and left sides. The tray has a structure with reinforcing ribs provided at arbitrary intervals. The grooved recesses have a depth sufficient enough to contain the shrimps in the extended state and to form a water- pourable block commodity.
