PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce weight of a vehicle body and to increase degree of freedom in designing a scooter type vehicle. SOLUTION: The scooter type vehicle 10 is a motorcycle which comprises a front frame portion 12 rising upward from the front part of a center frame portion 11 supporting a footing plate, a swing arm 52 having a base end mounted on the way of the front frame portion, the swing arm extending upward to the front side and being suspended on its way via a front cushion 53 by the front frame portion, a front fork 54 mounted at the end of the swing arm in a side-to-side swinging manner, and a front wheel 26 rotatably mounted via an axle 55 on the front fork, the front wheel being steered via the front fork with a steering shaft 61 rotatably mounted on a head pipe 13 at the upper end of the front frame portion. A base end 52a of the swing arm 52 and a base end 53a of the front cushion 53 are located upper than the axle 55 and lower than an upper end 26a of a rim of the front wheel 26.
