The device has at least one light source (10) emitting light of a first wavelength and a non-linear optical element pumped by the source to produce light of a second wavelength to form an image on the print form. The optical element contains a tunable optical parametric oscillator (16) whose magnification medium performs a nonlinear frequency conversion from light of the first wavelength to light of the second wavelength and of a third wavelength. Independent claims are also included for the following: a print form exposure device, a printing mechanism with an inventive device and a printing machine with at least one print mechanism.
