Soils polluted by heavy metal compounds are treated by mixing to a mixture of microorganisms and sterilized edible materials; and keeping the resulting mixture damp by contribution of water and/or sugary solution, and aerated by injecting and/or sucking air. The microorganisms are those present in soils and are grown in an aerobic environment on edible materials. Treatment of soils polluted by heavy metal compounds involves isolating and selecting the soil and mixing the soil to be treated to a mixture of microorganisms and sterilized edible materials. The microorganisms are those present in soils and are grown in an aerobic environment on edible materials comprising food industry products, by-products and/or residues. The resulting mixture is then kept damp, by contribution of water and/or sugary solution, and aerated by injecting and/or sucking air. The mixture is kept at a pH of 2-10 and at conditions adequate and suitable to the draining of the solutions of the heavy metal complexes polluting the treated soil. An independent claim is included for a plant for depolluting soils contaminated from heavy metal compounds. The plant has horizontal reactor(s) having a cylinder-shaped structure and with rotary shafts rotating in a clockwise and/or in a counterclockwise direction.
|
