STRAIN GAUGE AND METHOD FOR MEASURING STRAIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strain gauge capable of effectively measuring the distribution of strain in an object and improving the ease and yield of the manufacture. SOLUTION: The strain gauge 1 has a gauge grid 3 with the shape of oscillating wave extending continuously and a plurality of tabs 4 on a gauge base 2. The tabs 4 are arranged on upper and lower sides of the gauge grid 3 and equally spaced in the extending direction of the gauge grid 3. The upper tabs 4 are arranged at and electrically connected to folded sections 5a disposed at prescribed spacing D on the upper edge of the gauge grid 3, and the lower tabs 4 arranged at and electrically connected to folded sections 5b disposed at prescribed spacing D under the lower edge of the gauge grid 3. The folded sections 5a, 5b are arranged so as to be spaced D/2 apart from each other in the extending direction of the gauge grid 3.
