PURPOSE: A method of detecting a communication-interrupted section in a switching network management system is provided to automatically confirm whether communication of a detour route is interrupted about main routes when the main routes are communication-interrupted, thereby quickly retrieving all sections whose communication is interrupted up to the detour route. CONSTITUTION: When an operator inputs communication-interrupted section retrieval conditions(S10), a communication-interrupted section retriever retrieves links only whose overflow rate is more than 90 percent, whose ASR(Answer/Seizer Rate) is less than 5 percent, or whose ABR(Answer/Bid rate) is less than 5 percent(S12), and transmits a retrieved result to a detour route retriever. The detour route retriever retrieves a detour route, and transmits a retrieved result to the communication-interrupted section retriever(S14). The communication-interrupted section retriever checks whether a communication-interrupted section of the detour route is retrieved(S16). A communication-interrupted section decider decides whether the detour route for each main route is communication-interrupted(S18). If so, the communication-interrupted decider decides that the main routes are fully communication-interrupted(S20), and reports decided results to the operator(S22).
