PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely absorb impact made by the passenger's head coming into contact with a roof headlining while eliminating or reducing any unnecessary overhang of the roof headlining inside a vehicle room. SOLUTION: An air bag device for protecting the head is formed so that gas can be supplied from an inflator 22 arranged along a roof side rail part 31 to an air bag 10 folded and housed along the roof side rail part 31. An impact absorption member 51 for absorbing impact coming from inside of the vehicle room is arranged at a part adjacent to the inflator 22 of a roof part 35. At least one part of the impact absorption member 51 is overlapped with the inflator 22 in the front and the rear directions of the vehicle and the inflator 22, the air bag 10 and the impact absorption member 51 are covered with the roof headlining 41.
