PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reformed gas engine in which the engine is started with a reformed gas, and generation of the reformed gas is started in a short time. SOLUTION: When the engine is started, the hot gas generated in an oxidizing reaction of a fuel composition in a catalyst combustor 26 is fed to a reformer 11 as a heat source. When the reformer 11 is heated, and the reformed gas is generated, the reformed gas is fed to the engine 1 to start the engine. After the engine is started, the hot gas from the catalyst combustor 26 is fed, if the exhaust temperature is low, and the reformer 11 cannot efficiently reform the gas by utilizing the exhaust heat from the engine. When the hot gas need not be fed, and the reformed gas is sufficiently generated, a part of the reformed gas generated by the reformer 11 is adsorbed by the catalyst combustor 26, and the adsorbed reformed gas is subjected to the oxidizing reaction when generation of the hot gas is requested next. |
