PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor light emitting device which can reliably be connected to a light emitting rod having a light emitting diode as a light source and is provided with a structure for compensating for the insufficiency of light quantity. SOLUTION: This semiconductor light emitting device has an outlet 2 to which the base end of a light emitting rod 1 for reflecting light transmitting in the inside to the outside is attached, a light emitting diode 5 provided inside the outlet 2 and to be a light source for supplying light to the base end par of the light emitting rod 1, and a reflection member 15 provided together with the light emitting diode 5 inside the outlet 2 and for reflecting light from a side part of the light emitting diode 5 to supply the light to the light emitting rod 1. |
