CAP FOR PROTECTING LID BODY FOR VALVE CASE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cap for protecting a lid body for a valve case, which overcomes a problem such that the lid body gets soiled or damaged in the transportation of the lid body placed on an upper end of the valve case at the uppermost level of an arrangement part for the valve case, and a problem such that the lid body gets soiled when an asphalt pavement is laid on a ground surface after the burial of the lid body. SOLUTION: This cap 13 covers the cast lid body 6 placed on the upper end of the valve case 1 at the uppermost level of the arrangement part for the valve cases 1 which are stacked in a plurality of tiers and buried in the ground. The cap 13 is equipped with: a plate part 13a which forms a top surface in such a manner as to cover an upper-end overhang part 14 of the lid body 6 from upper and lateral positions; a side plate part 13b which is continuously provided downward from an outer periphery of the plate part 13a; and pawl pieces 13c which are integrally provided at a lower end of the plate part 13b at proper intervals in a circumferential direction. The pawl parts 13c are constituted to be engaged with the downside of the overhang part 14; and a V-shaped cut groove part 13d is formed all around the vicinity of the outer periphery of the plate part 13a which forms the top surface.
