<p>A multi-level optical recording medium (10) capable of recording record data according to a multi-level recording method specifying the light reflectance of a recording part formed on a recording layer (12) in a multi-stage manner by switching the irradiation of the laser beam applied by an optical pickup in a multi-stage manner. The maximum value of the normalized ratio obtained by dividing the voltage of the tracking difference signal detected via the optical pickup by the tracking sum signal detected via the optical pickup is set to be within a range from 0.05 to 0.4 when the multi-level optical recording medium (10) makes one turn by fixing the irradiation position in the radial direction of the laser beam to the multi-level optical recording medium (10). Various kinds of recording and reproducing devices can correctly and consistently perform tracking servo control and focus servo control. Accordingly, various kinds of recording and reproducing devices can record excellent record data, and reproduce excellent record data.</p> |
