PURPOSE: A waveguide structure of a lighting system is provided to reduce the width of the lighting system and installation space by arranging, in line, the electric bulb, magnetron, high voltage generator and the cooling fan. CONSTITUTION: A lighting system comprises a magnetron(20) for generating microwaves; a waveguide(40) communicated to the outlet of the magnetron and inlet of a resonator(60), and which guides microwaves to the resonator; an electric bulb(50) for emitting light by being excited by the microwaves guided by the waveguide; and the resonator accommodating the electric bulb, and which allows light emitted from the electric bulb to exit and is opaque to microwave radiation. The waveguide is formed into a rectangular shape elongated in the light radiation direction, and has an inlet and an outlet, wherein the inlet is communicated to the magnetron and the outlet is communicated to the resonator.
