PURPOSE: A method for unrestrictedly assigning a virtual port in a switch system and a call service method are provided to unrestrictedly assign the virtual port to a virtual slot or a real slot and perform a call service for mounting a legacy phone and an IP(Internet Protocol) phone on the virtual port and servicing the legacy phone and the IP phone. CONSTITUTION: A control unit judges whether a virtual port install command is inputted(50). If the virtual port install command is inputted, the control unit checks an inputted port range value(52). The control unit retrieves whether the inputted virtual port range value exceeds the maximum port value(54). If the inputted virtual port value is lower than the maximum port value, the control unit judges whether a port corresponding to the inputted virtual port range value exists in a real slot region or a virtual slot range(60). If the port corresponding to the inputted virtual port range value exists in the virtual slot range, the control unit mounts a virtual port corresponding to the virtual port range value and sets corresponding port information of a port state database of a memory(62). If the port corresponding to the inputted virtual port range value exists in the real slot region, the control unit mounts the virtual port on the real slot region and sets corresponding port information(64).
