The pressing appliance comprises pressure rams which move to and fro in one pressing direction. The movement of the rams is measured. The density and or height of a pressed part is/are measured to determine the parameters of the pressed parts. A calculator assesses the die-fill for a next pressing-test. The initial material for pressing is in granular or powder form.
