PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underwater decomposition type garbage treatment device capable of sufficiently agitating and homogenizing whole decomposing liquid and effectively performing decomposing treatment by microorganisms in the decomposing liquid in good condition. SOLUTION: In this underwater decomposition type garbage treatment device introducing garbage into a decomposition tank 2 and decomposing by microorganisms in the decomposing liquid stored in the decomposition tank 2, the decomposition tank 2 comprises an agitator 3 agitating the decomposing liquid, a circulation pump 4 introducing the decomposing liquid to an upper part space in the decomposition tank 2 and a diffusion member 5 supplying air to the decomposing liquid which is introduced into the upper part space by the circulation pump 4. A feed port 41a supplying the decomposing liquid to the diffusion member 5 is arranged at the center position of the decomposition tank 2, and the agitator 3 and the circulation pump 4 are arranged at both side positions pinching the feed port 41a on an approximate linear line.
