PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner which can improve dust removal efficiency in a vacuum cleaner with a rotary brush. SOLUTION: Inside of a vacuum cleaner body 1 is formed with a rotary brush housing chamber having a suction port 4 and housing a rotary brush 8 rotatably, has a built-in driving source (electric motor), the rotary brush 8 includes flexible brush bodies 10 spirally arranged on a core body, and the edges of the brush bodies 10 are brought into contact with the edge part of the opening of the suction port 4 when the rotary brush 8 is rotating.
