It is suggested in a method for detecting emotions from speech to involve linguistic correlation information (LCI) to better detect a current emotional state (ES) of a given speaker. Said linguistic correlation information (LCI) is derived from a recognition result (RS) and may contain semantical cue information (SemCI) and/or syntactical cue information (SynCI).
