The device comprises four components: an outer housing (1), an inner part (2 ), a pair of contact elements (3, 3') and a connecting plug (4). The housing (1 ) and the inner part (2) have complementary retention means, said inner part ( 2) also having assembly and fixing means for the contact elements (3, 3') in which pairs of projecting elements (17, 18) are located enabling connection of the connecting plug (4) in two rotational positions, with a 90~ phase difference between them, and preventing connection in an intermediate positi on due to the fact that the inner ends of the pins of the connecting plug (4) a re placed in drawn-in segment (19) of the contact elements (3, 3'). The device is intended for heating the wick surfacing from a container of the active substance in order to vaporize said substance that reaches the emerging end of said wick by capillarity. The container is retained on the bottom end of the device assembly by a ring (26) in the inner part (2).
