PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain clear purified liquid of high purity by converting organic matter contained in liquid to be treated into undissolved matter, and by installing a classifying mechanism for surely separating the undissolved matter and the purified liquid with the undissolved matter removed therefrom. SOLUTION: The classifying mechanism C is provided in a separating tank B near its center, and C has water intakes 13, in front of which a baffle wall 14 having an inclined surface 15 is closely disposed so as to almost cover the water intakes 13. The undissolved matter contained in the liquid can thereby be prevented to the utmost from intruding into the classifying mechanism C, which thus leads to the improvement of the purity of the purified liquid within the classifying mechanism C.
