PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide footwear which usually and stably generates minus ions in a static condition without applying external force. SOLUTION: This minus ion generating footwear contains a minus ion generating powder composition. The minus ion generating powder composition used is: (1) a mixture of powder (specific gravity A, average particle diameter a) of tourmaline and powder (specific gravity B, average particle diameter b) of a zirconium compound except electromelted stabilized zirconium made by mixing 100Bb<3> /3Aa<3> -1000Bb<3> /Aa<3> pts.wt. of the powder of zirconium except electromelted stabilized zirconium against 100 pts.wt. of the tourmaline powder; or (2) a mixture of powder (specific gravity A, average particle diameter a) of tourmaline and powder (specific gravity C, average particle diameter c) of an electromelted stabilized zirconium made by mixing 100Cc<3> /3Aa<3> -1000Cc<3> / Aa<3> pts.wt. of the powder of electromelted stabilized zirconium against 100 pts.wt. of the tourmaline powder.
