SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MANIPULATING MAGNETICALLY RESPONSIVE PARTICLE IN FLUID SAMPLE TO COLLECT DNA OR RNA FROM SAMPLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for effectively collecting DNA or RNA by using magnetic particle in fluid sample. SOLUTION: This system and method adopts a device which can accept a plurality of tubes containing samples and magnetically responsive particles respectively. This system contains a heating and cooling device which facilitates a lysing step for releasing nucleic acid molecules from cells in a cell solution. This system further contains movable magnet which is moved so as to approach the tubes and leave the same in order to hold the magnetically responsive particles to which the nucleic acid molecules become bound and allows the molecule-bound particles to be separated from the remaining part in the solution and be washed properly. Otherwise, this system preferably adopts an electromagnet which can demagnetize the particles so that the particles become freely miscible with a solution such as an eluting solution which is used for releasing the molecules from the bound state with the particles.
