PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably shield a non-burning side from a burning side against wind pressure due to a fire. SOLUTION: The interior space of a building is partitioned by drooping an incombustible or fire resistant flexible screen (2) from the ceiling. An engagement means (7) is provided in the lower edge (6) of the screen (2) or the site that the lower edge (6) faces when drooped, and an engagement means (8) is provided in the other. When the lower edge (6) reaches a floor surface (5) in drooping the screen, the engagement means (7) is mechanically engaged with the engagement means (8).
