PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary compression filter with which a degree of dehydration is improved by effectively pressing cake while smoothly discharging the cake, and to provide a device and a method for dehydrating a solution to be treated containing soft solids. SOLUTION: The cake is pressed in the course of decreasing a space between two screens facing each other by moving them to a slight angle from parallel. Otherwise, the discharging of cake is facilitated by gradually decreasing the cross section area of a filtering chamber in the radial direction and lowering to a given degree or less the angle between a partition plate and the rotary direction of the screens. The rotary compression filter having a plurality of feed openings is used for the solution to be treated containing the soft solids, and a first solution to be treated containing solids having a better liquid permeability than that of solids in an ordinary solution to be treated is fed from a first opening, whereby a layer of the solids better in liquid permeability in the first solution to be treated is formed on the surfaces of the screens, resulting in efficiently dehydrating the ordinary solution to be treated fed from a second opening.
