PURPOSE: A catalyst for olefin polymerization, its preparation method and a method for polymerizing olefins by using the catalyst are provided, to improve the activity of a catalyst and the uniformity of particle size distribution of polymers. CONSTITUTION: The preparation method comprises the steps of adding a solvent or its mixture selected from an alcohol of C5-C10 and a hydrocarbon of C6 or more to a nonreductive magnesium compound; heating the obtained solution at a temperature of 100 deg.C or more; adding an alcohol of C1-C4 to precipitate the carrier; and adding an organic aluminum compound or an alkyl magnesium halide with using the precipitate as a carrier and reacting it with a titanium compound. Preferably the organic aluminum compound is represented by R¬1_mAl(OR¬2)nHpXq or M¬1AlR¬1_4, wherein R¬1 and R¬2 are identical or different each other and are a hydrocarbon group of C1-C10; X is a halogen atom; 0<m<=3, 0 <=n<3, 0<=p<3, and m+n+p+q=3; and M¬1 is Li, Na or K. Preferably the titanium compound is represented by Ti(OR¬1)a(R¬2)bXc, wherein R¬1 and R¬2 are a hydrocarbon group; X is a halogen atom; and a+b+c=4, a>=0, b>=0 and c>=0. Preferably the nonreductive magnesium compound is a halogenated magnesium, an alkoxy magnesium halide, an alkoxy magnesium, an aryloxy magnesium, or magnesium carbonic acid salt.
