The method for changing a milk filter (1a) in a housing (16) comprises opening the housing by removing its body (3) from a mounting (2), e.g. using a hydraulic unit (6). The used filter is then removed e.g. a second hydraulic unit (4), the housing closed and washed, then re-opened and a fresh filter fitted from a magazine (5). An Independent claim is included for a device for carrying out the method.
