PURPOSE: A high-speed cell matching device for an ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) switch is provided to accommodate an external transmission line which is relatively faster than a process speed of an internal matching device by matching cell data according to each connection. CONSTITUTION: A FIFO memory unit(32) has a plurality of inlet FIFOs(32-1) and outlet FIFOs(32-2), and temporarily stores cell data according to connection. A cell multiplexing/demultiplexing unit(31) confirms a link number of high-speed cell data transmitted from a traffic management unit(23) of an external transmission line side according to the connection, and stores the cell data in the FIFO memory unit(32). The cell multiplexing/demultiplexing unit(31) receives the cell data stored in the FIFO memory unit(32) and transmits the cell data through one transmission line. A cell format converting unit(33) mutually converts a cell format used in a subscriber matching device and a cell format used in an internal switch device.
