PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convert a two-dimensional picture to a three-dimensional picture without generating a sense of incongruity by changing the delay quantity of a sub video signal delayed for a main video signal corresponding to the speed of motion in a horizontal direction of a main picture. SOLUTION: The speed of motion in the horizontal direction of the main picture is detected by a motion vector detection circuit 16, and sent to a CPU 20. A two-dimensional video signal (a) is delayed in field unit in field memory 11. Read/write on the field memory 11 is performed by a memory control circuit 24. The output (b) of the field memory 11 is sent to a picture switching circuit 13 and an interpolation circuit 12 which generates an interpolation signal in a vertical direction. The CPU 20 controls the switching of the picture switching circuit 13 based on the direction of a motion vector, and outputs either the signal (b) or (c) and the signal (a) to a phase control circuit 14 for left image and a phase control circuit 15 for right image. |
