The method and the machine are used in the manufacture of sealing rings or jackets for internal combustion engines and compressors having high indicators of elasticity, wear-resistance and hardness at elevated temperatures. By the method, molten metal for moulding of castings for sealing rings or metal jackets are poured into a floating, replaceable, two-side open, revolving metal cassette (4) of a horizontal centrifugal machine, containing a sand mould (5) or a sand collar (17) inserted in its interior. The metal is poured from one side into the interior of the cassette (4) by runner gate (20). At the same time its level is monitored and after it spills metal on both sides of the cassette (4), the pouring of the metal is discontinued, the revolving of the cassette (4) terminates, the metal poured in its core cools down and solidified quickly. The mould (5) is broken, the casting (21) produced is subjected to mechanical treatment by turning or milling. The individual blanks of rings or jackets cut, are subjected to additional mechanical treatment until they reach the required precision to fit closely and have the necessary sealing to the operating cylinder. 5 claims, 7 figures
