PURPOSE: A double dynamic focus electron gun is provided to achieve improved horizontal resolution in the peripheral portion of the screen by preventing an expansion of horizontal beam. CONSTITUTION: A double dynamic focus electron gun comprises a triode unit including a cathode for emitting three electron beams, a control electrode for controlling electron beams and forming a cross-over point, and a screen electrode; an electronic lens forming unit including first to fifth focus electrodes arranged in sequence from the screen electrode toward the phosphor screen of the cathode ray tube, and a final accelerating electrode; and a voltage applying unit for forming an auxiliary quadrupole lens(Q0) between the second focus electrode and the third focus electrode, a first quadrupole lens(Q1) between the third focus electrode and the fourth focus electrode, a second quadrupole lens(Q2) between the fourth focus electrode and the fifth focus electrode, and a main lens(ML) between the fifth focus electrode and the final accelerating electrode, by applying a screen voltage to the screen electrode and the second focus electrode, a static focus voltage to first and fourth focus electrodes, a parabolic dynamic focus voltage to third and fifth focus electrodes, and an anode voltage to the final focusing electrode.
