PURPOSE: A VFD(Vacuum Fluorescent Display) and a driving circuit thereof are provided to reduce the number of peripheral elements and improve the productivity by using a DC/DC converter IC in a power supply portion. CONSTITUTION: A VFD driving module(20) includes a DC/DC converter(10), an N-bit driver(2), a vacuum fluorescent display portion(3). The N-bit driver(2) is formed with an N-bit shift register(4), a latch(5), and a gate array(6). The DC/DC converter(10) and the N-bit driver(2) are formed within a single chip. The DC/DC converter(10) is used for performing a duty and frequency control operation for external power(11) by using a switching operation of an IC in order to convert the external power to a DC voltage for driving the vacuum fluorescent display portion(3). The N-bit driver(2) is used for converting the DC voltage of the DC/DC converter(10) to a proper voltage for driving the vacuum fluorescent display portion(3). The N-bit shift register(4) is used for applying data of n bits and a pattern driving signal. The latch(5) is used for outputting the pattern driving signal according to an external control signal. The gate array(6) is used for combining the pattern driving signals by using predetermined logical gates.
