PURPOSE: A method for forming an unstructured tetrahedral mesh for a three-dimensional structure is provided to perform a calculation process for numerical analysis by defining a surface region, a boundary region, and an integrated circuit structure of a multiple region. CONSTITUTION: A tetrahedral mesh generation system(100) performs a surface mesh generation process, a surface generation process, and a tetrahedral mesh generation process. A three-dimensional structure is obtained from a structure definition file(110) for generating three-dimensional meshes. The three-dimensional structure is stored in structure definition data(120) by using a linked structure. The structure definition data(120) are formed with a node list, a polygon list, and a polyhedron list. A connectable node search module(132) is used for selecting the nearest node from a median point of a front triangle without an intersection in a process for forming a triangle. A connectable node search module(162) is used for selecting the nearest node from a median point of a front triangle without an intersection in a process for forming a tetrahedron.
