PURPOSE: A method for converting a receiving mode in a mobile communication terminal is provided to confirm a caller ID in case that a call signal is received in a state in which the receiving mode of the mobile communication terminal is a bell receiving mode, and convert the bell receiving mode into a mute lamp receiving mode according to the confirmed caller ID. CONSTITUTION: If a call signal is received through an RF(Radio Frequency) unit of a mobile communication terminal(S200), a control unit of the mobile communication terminal extracts a caller ID included in the call signal through a caller ID detecting unit and displays the caller ID on an LCD(S210). The control unit judges whether the extracted caller ID is temporarily stored in a memory unit(S220). If the extracted caller ID is the caller ID temporarily stored in the memory unit, the control unit automatically converts a receiving mode of a receiving informing unit into a mute lamp receiving mode for blocking the generation of a ring sound and a vibration and informing the call receiving signal through only the on/off of an LED(Light Emitting Diode)(S230). If the call receiving signal is ended in a state in which the termination of the receiving informing unit is maintained in the mute lamp receiving mode(S240), the control unit converts the mute lamp receiving mode into the receiving mode before the mute lamp receiving mode(S250). If the extracted caller ID is not the caller ID temporarily stored in the memory unit, a user confirms the caller ID displayed on the LCD and selects whether a call connection is performed(S260). If the user does not select the call connection, the control unit discriminates whether a mute lamp receiving mode conversion key signal is generated from a key input unit(S290). If the mute lamp receiving mode conversion key signal is generated, the control unit temporarily stores the caller ID in the memory unit during a set time(S300). The control unit automatically converts the receiving mode of the receiving informing unit into the mute lamp receiving mode for blocking the generation of the ring sound and the vibration and informing the receiving of the call signal through only the on/off of an LED(S310). If the call receiving signal is ended in the state in which the termination of the receiving informing unit is maintained in the mute lamp receiving mode(S320), the control unit converts the mute lamp receiving mode into the receiving mode before the mute lamp receiving mode(S330).
