PURPOSE: A method of switching a keypad backlight lamp of a mobile communication terminal is provided to repeatedly output a low or a high control signal having a predetermined frequency, to remarkably reduce current consumption while turning on the backlight lamp, thereby decreasing unnecessary power consumption of a terminal battery. CONSTITUTION: When power is supplied to a mobile communication terminal(S1), the mobile communication terminal decides whether time designated for turning on many LEDs is set according to a control operation of a digital processor(S2). If so, the mobile communication terminal repeatedly outputs a low or a high control signal having a predetermined frequency through an output port of the digital processor during the set time only(S3). The mobile communication terminal repeatedly turns on/off a switching element for driving the LEDs(S4). |
