摘要 PURPOSE: To provide an electro-optical device which is preferred for the use in a cellular phone, a mobile computer, or the like; in which a high effective voltage is applied to the liquid crystal; high contrast display is possible, and a reflecting electrode is prevented from being deteriorated in quality, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor. CONSTITUTION: The invention relates to the electro-optical device 100 provided with a pair of substrates 10, 20 arranged to face each other filling and holding a liquid crystal 50 in-between, and a reflecting plate 8 having one or more opening parts 14 which are formed on the liquid crystal 50 side of one substrate 10 of the substrate pair 10, 20 and reflect the incident light from the other substrate 20 side of the substrate pair 10, 20, and also transmit the light from a back-light source, and characterized in that a transparent electrode 9 is formed on the reflecting plate 8, and this transparent electrode 9 is electrically connected with a potential supply line 6b or a semiconductor layer 1.
