PROCESS FOR PRODUCING POLYSUCCINIMIDE IN AN ORGANIC MEDIUM

The invention relates to a process for producing polysuccinimide in an organic medium. According to the invention, the process consists in providing a high boiling reaction medium selected from the group consisting of alkyl alcohols having from 7 to 14 carbon atoms having straight or branched chain alkyl and mixtures thereof and a high boiling straight or branched chain alkanes having 10 to 20 carbon atoms, and mixtures thereof, and heating the amino acid in said medium for a sufficient time to polymerize said aminoacid.
