<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointing device, small and well operable enough to build and mount in a personal computer or a portable telephone. SOLUTION: The pointing device comprises an optical movement detecting element connected to a moving body for integral operation. The movement of a pointer on a display screen is controlled by the movement of the moving body within a certain range for detecting a position. Upon detecting that the moving body reaches a terminal portion in the movable range, an electric signal is used for moving the pointer on the display screen.</p> |
