PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize cost reduction by simplifying the structure of a display tube and to make its connection with a drive circuit easier. SOLUTION: The display unit 100 is composed of a group of display tubes 1 arranged in parallel which emit light by gas discharge. On the outer surface of a tubular container 11 enclosing discharge gas space of each display tube 1, a plurality of translucent auxiliary electrodes 25 for display are arranged in lengthwise direction in order to fix the position of a discharge section and the auxiliary electrodes arranged in the same position of the length direction of the container 11 are connected electrically with one another by a strip of power supply conductor X fitted on the front face substrate 41. At the back side of the group of display tubes, a back face substrate 42 is arranged equipped with a strip of conductor Y along each display tube at the back of the display group. |
