A covering for a sector of a rotary leaf filter consists of a blank of metallic, synthetic or natural fabric a in the shape of a dual sector folded about its median radial line a3 and joined along its radial edges a1 before the covering is slid on to the sector. When in position the mouth a2 is closed e.g. by an attached part b. The neck is closed e.g. by a neck piece c, c1, which can have been previously fitted. Alternatively, the covering may be operatively installed by sewing or slide fastener or other similar operation when folded upon the segment.
