摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thickness longitudinal piezoelectric resonator, with which miniaturization can be advanced, electric capacitance is enlarged and sprious between a resonance frequency and an anti-resonance frequency can be suppressed while being hardly affected by the stray capacitance of a circuit board, in the thickness longitudinal piezoelectric resonator utilizing the higher harmonic wave of a thickness longitudinal vibration mode. SOLUTION: A thickness longitudinal piezoelectric resonator 1 has a strip type piezoelectric body 2 in the shape of rectangular plate, first and second exciting electrodes 3 and 4 formed on both the sides of the piezoelectric body 2 and facing to each other on front and rear sides through the piezoelectric body 2 and an internal electrode 6 facing to the first and second exciting electrodes 3 and 4 and a portion where the first and second exciting electrodes 3 and 4 and the internal electrode 6 face to each other, comprises a resonance part. In the lengthwise direction of the piezoelectric body 2 (first direction), vibration attenuating parts are configured on both the sides of the resonance part. When the interval of terminal electrodes 5 and 7 connected to a potential opposite to the first and second exciting electrodes 3 and 4 in the first direction is defined as G0 and the thickness of the piezoelectric body is defined as T, on the condition of D=T/N, the condition of G0 /D>=2.0 is established.
