PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic tape cartridge in which a reel lock can be easily and surely fitted with the fitting part of an upper half when attaching the reel lock within the hub of the reel. SOLUTION: A side wall 3C having the same height as or higher than that of a cruciform groove part 3B is formed at the side part of a reel lock 3. Grip parts 3D and 3D formed by chamfering the side wall 3C are provided at a position to face each other on the outer peripheral surface of side wall 3C. The grip parts 3D and 3D are formed by chamfering the side wall 3C in a longitudinal direction so as to be parallel with the width direction of one cruciform groove of the cruciform groove part 3B. When the reel lock 3 is attached within the hub 2A of a reel 2, the chucks CH1 and CH2 of an assembling device (not shown) grip the grip parts 3D and 3D.
