PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to confirm the name of a tollgate and a place name of a check barrier passing at present by announcing these names to the user. SOLUTION: When approaching a tollgate or check barrier, an ETC on- vehicle unit 11 acquires the name of the tollgate or the place name of the check barrier from an external connecting apparatus 12 capable of retrieving a facility name from a GPS receiver 13 and a database 14, and announces these names from a loudspeaker and a display part. Thus, the user can confirm which tollgate or check barrier himself passes through.
