<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a piezoelectric single crystal having high sensitivity and resolution, and to provide a method for producing the same, a piezoelectric element, and an ultrasonic probe. SOLUTION: The piezoelectric single crystal consists of Pb[(B1 , B2 )1-x Tix ]O3 , wherein (x) satisfies 0.05<=x<=0.55; B1 is at least one element selected from the group of Zn, Ni, Mg, Sc, In and Yb; and B2 is at least one element selected from the group of Nb and Ta, and contains at least one element selected from the group of Co, Mn and Cr in an amount of >=10 and <=1,000 ppm expressed in terms of CoO, MnO and CrO, respectively.</p> |
