PURPOSE: A method for controlling the drying stroke of a washing and drying machine is provided to improve the clothing drying efficiency by preheating an inner tub and clothing before beginning the drying operation, thereby reducing the drying time and reducing the generation of environmental problems by discharging air after lowering the temperature and humidity thereof. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling the drying stroke of a washing and drying machine includes the steps of sealing and preheating an inner tub for forming an environmental proper to evaporation of water vapor by raising the internal temperature of the inner tub and the temperature of clothing, and supplying heated air into the inner tub for carrying out heat exchange between the heated air and the clothing.
