The surface skimmer comprises a caisson defining a water flow channel provided with a non-return flap (10). The flap is articulated to the caisson in its lower part between a laid down position in the direction of the flow and an upright position defined by the engagement of the flap with a stop (17) located in an immersed zone (7).
