Each of several subscriber stations is provided with a controller for generating and decoding the communication protocol. The transmission from one of the subscriber stations to the bus (48), is enabled while the transmission from other subscriber station is disabled, so that only one subscriber station is in active state. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) deterministic field bus; (2) usage of deterministic field bus.
