PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a difference in fixing performance between image formation modes in a 1D system image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The relationship between the transfer/fixing distance L and a paper length l is established so that, in the case of L>l in the multiple formation mode, fixing speed that is low speed V2 is used and, in the case of L<l, fixing speed that is equal to processing speed V1 is used until the rear end of paper is passed through a transfer section and the low speed V2 is used after the passage of it through the transfer section and so that, in the monochrome mode, processing speed V2 is used. |
