<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize friction torque generated when an electromagnetic rotor attracts armature, in a rotation transmitting device for selectively switching power transmission and cutting off. SOLUTION: A retainer 10 is assembled between an inside member 3 and an outside member 5, an engaging piece 12 is assembled in the pocket formed on the retainer 10 for engaging a cam face 8 formed on a outer peripheral of the inside member 3 and a cylinder face 9 formed on the inner peripheral of the outside member 5 by the relative rotation of the inside member 3 and the retainer 10. By arranging the rotor 22 and the electric magnet 19 to oppose to an armature 18 movable in the axial direction and fixed by the effect of whirl stop of the retainer 10, and by attracting the armature 18 to the rotor 22 the retainer 10 is whirl-stopped to switch the engaging piece 12 to an engaging state. The stability of friction torque applied to the armature 18 is enhanced by arranging a step having a higher outer peripheral part than an inner peripheral part on the attracting surface of the rotor 22 in order to always attract the outer peripheral part of the armature 18.</p> |
