PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for obtaining a lotion such as a cosmetic or medicine which is apt to be contaminated with sundry germs such as microorganisms, capable of preventing a product from deterioration and degeneration even without using a synthetic antibacterial agent or even by reducing its blending amount, safe to human bodies and gentle to the skin, and having a safe and good image such as acceptable to consumers. SOLUTION: The lotion is obtained by adding 0.001-5 wt.% sucrose fatty acid ester having >=60 wt.% monoester content, based on the total of the lotion.
